As the nation moves toward an energy-efficient future, we are continuing to add energy-efficient lighting options to our product line. Our latest addition is SWITCH Lighting LED light bulbs. The award-winning, highly-acclaimed, highly-anticipated SWITCH LED light bulbs are now available online and at all Batteries Plus stores across the country. These innovative bulbs are truly one-of-a-kind, displaying several unique features that raise the LED lighting bar.
SWITCH LED bulbs provide the standard LED bulb benefits – they save time, money and energy. They last up to 25 times longer than an incandescent light bulb – up to 25,000 hours – and the SWITCH60, for example, saves consumers approximately $130 on an energy bill over the light bulb’s lifetime, depending on usage.
However, it’s the brand’s exceptional and unique features that really set it apart from the others.
Rugged construction and a UL damp rating make the SWITCH LED bulb a perfect fit for most applications, from indoors to out. They perform well in a temperature range of -4°F to 113°F (-20°C to 45°C) and don’t attract bugs, because they don’t produce any UV rays.
Perhaps the most impressive attribute, the LQD Cooling System offers the best thermal management in the industry, using an innovative blend of proprietary technologies – a coolant made of liquid-silicone and a patented, highly-reliable and efficient driver – and overall electronic design.
The overall electronic design works to cool the LEDs, using the bulb’s entire surface to disperse heat. As a result, SWITCH LED bulbs offer up to 40 percent better thermal performance than air-cooled LED bulbs. Better thermal performance means the SWITCH bulbs can be used in any fixture, even fully enclosed or recessed, and in any orientation without compromising light output or life.
The LQD Cooling System uses a liquid silicone, a coolant commonly used across many industries—so it’s proven to work. It’s an ingredient found in food products and cosmetics, and it’s also used for cooling large machinery and power plant equipment. The liquid silicone is a benign, food-grade liquid, and is electrically non-conductive, non-toxic and non-staining. It doesn’t degrade the LEDs or bulb components in any way, and it doesn’t harm people or the environment.
Safe for people, great for cooling LEDs—the LQD Cooling System has earned SWITCH LED bulbs the distinction of being the first liquid-cooled lighting product to be UL-approved.
Producing the same light output and glow of an incandescent light bulb, they use up to 80 percent less energy. SWITCH LED light bulbs are the first LEDs to match the room-filling light distribution of incandescent bulbs, ensuring that your space is properly lit.
These bulbs fit into standard light sockets and can be used in the same manner as any incandescent or compact fluorescent light bulb – in any orientation, any fixture and any location. Plus, they work with most dimmers, making it possible to quickly and easily control both light intensity and energy use.
SWITCH bulbs have been widely praised for their sleek, industrial design and have even been featured as a work of art in several art galleries. With a striking modern design that reveals its inner workings, the clear SWITCH LED light bulb is equally suitable for use in exposed sockets and behind a shade. When a more diffuse cover is preferred, there is the frosted SWITCH bulb.
The SWITCH75 was a Consumer Electronics Show 2012 Innovations Honoree, was named by TIME Magazine as one of the 50 Best Inventions of 2011 and also received a silver rating in the prestigious Edison 2012 Awards.
SWITCH Lighting executives say they chose Batteries Plus as their national retail partner because of the highly-trained store owners and staff who can best educate customers on all aspects of the light bulb.
