Once a year, on January 1st, we declare our planned life improvements that typically never happen. The New Year’s resolution is infamous for a low follow-through rate. But this year, Batteries Plus wants to help you stick with them! Get the ball rolling with the following tips on how to achieve some of the most common resolutions.
Want to reduce your carbon footprint? Stick with the basics: reduce, reuse, recycle. First and foremost, reduce your energy consumption. Two of the biggest energy suckers are heating and lighting. Counteract this with simple tasks like turning down your heat when you’re not home and purchasing energy-efficient lighting.
LED light bulbs consume less than a quarter of the electricity of compact fluorescent lighting while lasting almost 10 times as long. They will not burn out like typical bulbs, but will gradually decrease in light output. They also do not produce heat like incandescent bulbs.
Instead of purchasing disposal items, try reusing. You’ll save money and landfill space! In addition to obvious recyclables like paper, aluminum cans and cardboard, consider recycling your used batteries and light bulbs. This will stop harmful chemicals from contaminating our soil and water, and preserve our environment by decreasing the need for new raw materials from the Earth.
If you prefer to work out in the comfort of your own home, make sure to maintain your fitness equipment. You’re more likely to actually use it if you are taking care of it. Wipe the dust off, repair any damages, keep them powered with fresh batteries and get to it! At Batteries Plus, you’ll find batteries for fitness equipment like treadmills (D cell alkaline batteries for monitor), stair steppers (SLA batteries), ellipticals (SLA batteries), rowers (D cell alkaline batteries for monitor), exercise bikes (SLA batteries) and more.
If you’re trying to quit, electronic cigarettes can be helpful. Battery-powered devices, these fake cigarettes take rechargeable lithium ion cells. You’ll want at least two batteries at hand for the long term. E-cigarette batteries need to charge, so a single battery means no access during charging times.
Clear the junk drawer and stay organized with the Battery Organizer and Storage Rack! It holds up to 40 batteries from AA and AAA to C, D, and 9 Volt. Plus, you check your batteries before use with the built-in battery tester.
The best way to get started is to plan an event. Call, email or reach out on social media to family and friends. Keep your laptop, cordless phone and cell phone batteries powered so you can always stay connected.
And remember, we’re social, so follow us!
