June is National Camping Month, and in preparation for it, last month we conducted a survey to find out: what types of outdoor excursions customers were planning for the summer, what types of mobile devices they plan to use remotely, and if they would have any interest or use for a portable power supply for their phones, tablets or mp3 players while away from electrical outlets.
In conjunction with our partner Rayovac®, we offered five random winners a prize-package consisting of an Indestructible Flashlight, a 7-hour backup battery bank and a 24-pack of AA batteries for participating in this five question survey. The results were as follows:
In summary, it looks like most participants have an interest in partaking in outdoor activities this summer, and most would be interested in using a portable power source to keep their mobile devices juiced-up while they’re on-the-go. The 7-hour battery bank that runs off of AA batteries had more than double the responses than other smaller portable power device options, including a dual-charger that can be plugged into a car-lighter adapter for remote power. Not too surprisingly, with the convenient size and multi-functionality of smartphones today, they were the most popular device considered for bringing along on these trips, while taking photos and videos was the most popular intended use, by far. Still, 8% of the the almost 2.7K respondents said they wouldn’t use technology at all and just enjoy nature as is.
Regardless of your summer plans, we hope you’re able to enjoy spending time with family and friends. For portable power devices, flashlights and batteries to keep you powered up along the way, please stop by and see what we can do to help keep your summer fun moving full speed ahead!
